DESIGNING DESIGNING DESIGNING!

Im pretty happy with what is starting to emerge from the sample room.
Have been working on our new range with Ray, he cuts all the patterns- brings my ideas to life... there are so many amazing things that are available in China, its designer heaven here and I absolutely love it!!!
Velvets, trimmings, leathers, linens... the Chinese people are the masters of fine workmanship... any creative vision can come true.

Imagine feathers, fur and velvet- soft colours that merge into each other and different textures to compliment one another. Yummy!

CAMEO CUSHIONS

Cameo cushions... there is something whimsical about this print... there's a little bit of tradition with a hint of romance!
The colours are soft yet bold and the the fabric is linen with just the right amount of texture.
Great to add spirit to a room- in a vintage or modern setting.

Coming soon- coordinating quilted bed runners. Timeless and worth loving!

MAY IN STORE

We had a great week in the shop last week, Kismet tried and tested all the new products- she approves!

Its such a beautiful time of year... Kissie and I walked the back streets of Port Melbourne, the lane ways are flooded with crunchy autumn leaves. Burnt oranges and russet browns, so inspiring!
Winter is definitely upon us.. its time to nest!

VINTAGE CHARM

Loving this vintage Circa 1920's French enamel that I found at Gigi a la Maison in South Melbourne... perfect to add some vintage charm to the kitchen.

If you're visiting the South Melbourne markets... make sure to visit Mme Lee at Gigi a la Maison.
Her shop is full to the brim with French Brocante... if you are anything like me you will have to take something away with you, her shop is mesmerising!

MY NEW BLOG

Welcome to my new blog!
I am a little bit excited- just quietly, its great to be able to vent some of my finds and ideas... nothing like sharing a creative vision I say.

Ive just spent the last 3 months setting up the first Emma Jay Flagship store... scouring Melbourne for interesting vintage pieces.
My radar is finely tuned into anything and everything that is charming, recycled and spirited. Ive got loads to tell so cant wait to get things moving and share my thoughts!

In the mean here is a little pic of my puppy, "Kismet" on the bed in the shop. She is my inspiration!
